Economic impact and working practices, deskilling
IT has impacted economically and on working practices by jobs
being created and destroying old jobs. The old jobs are either useless for
modern day or they are taken over by machines/IT. The reason for this is
machines are faster and rarely able to make mistakes. Some of the mistakes are
that of human error e.g. the client putting the wrong thing in self-checkout. Even
though people can make mistakes on things it still can be easier to buy things
plus it could be quicker. Another good thing is that self-service is done independently
which is easier but it can have errors so it’s not quick which make going to a
normal checkout faster.
