Personal data

IT has impacted Personal data so it can be stolen by hacking or phishing and putting wrong info on the profile for people to see. To stop it don’t put info which can be easily accessed.

Denial of service

IT has impacts of Denial of service by charging the user with unasked costs which should have been added on the customer billing.

Phishing

IT has impact of Phishing because people will try to steal sensitive info like passwords or account details or sending you email to complete that steal your login details.

Threats and Negative Impacts

IT has impact Cyber bullying really it actually created it without the internet cyber-bullying would never really happen but it not say that that we can’t stop
cyber-bullying, we can stop it by block the person or if it’s child they can tell their parents and if it’s adult they can block it.

Inequality of access

IT has impacted Inequality of access has changed making it easier to access so they sign up for things like Netflix, Virgin and Sky which have to pay for to access.

Ethical

IT has impacted Ethical because before computer, information was harder to steal but if the info was destroy they wouldn’t have a backup so with IT you can now back stuff more easily but people can hack info.

Legal-Copyright

IT has impacted Legal with policy like copyright so you can’t use images in video or posting things without the creator’s permission so they can’t take credit for the for the source.

Economic impact and working practices, deskilling

IT has impacted economically and on working practices by jobs being created and destroying old jobs. The old jobs are either useless for modern day or they are taken over by machines/IT. The reason for this is machines are faster and rarely able to make mistakes. Some of the mistakes are that of human error e.g. the client putting the wrong thing in self-checkout. Even though people can make mistakes on things it still can be easier to buy things plus it could be quicker. Another good thing is that self-service is done independently which is easier but it can have errors so it’s not quick which make going to a normal checkout faster.

Impacts of IT on communities

Communities and societies as a whole

The impact of IT on communities really it’s a double edge sword. It does make people more social finding people who you won’t normally meet outdoors or friends you haven’t seen for ages but it can discourage people to go outdoors making them less social. The more you stay inside the more you are unhealthy; while it can be good and bad it can also help people to find people who enjoy what they like e.g. Dr who, Star Trek etc.

Impacts of IT on individuals

Social Impacts of IT

Individuals

With the impacts of IT on individuals one bad thing is that it makes people housebound and don’t interact with other people. A positive of social impact of IT are for People who are disabled can easily go online shop websites instead of going to travel to the stores they can go on websites that offer groceries. They can contact people easily with Skype and email which helps them contact other people plus now online social. Online gaming is now more social because internet interaction is better than before (but does depend on which area you live in and how many devices are using it).
